Story:

Mr S. came to into our services with a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson-related dementia. Although initially, this was respite in nature, over the next three years we transitioned into 24/7 care. In the beginning we were his companions, accompanying George on walks and excursions. As his disease progressed, we were able to provide the increasing care required, progressing from simple reminders and prompting to total caregiver and medical services. George was eventually admitted into hospice with our team providing adjunct care. He passed away shortly after in his own home.

My husband and I were referred to Dana while living in an Independent senior living community in Carmel. My husband never wanted to be in an ‘institutional’ living situation. Because of Dana and her team, we were able to come back home and live in our own environment for the next 2.5 yrs. Dana’s knowledge and understanding of disease process, aging and dementia made us feel so comfortable knowing what to expect and challenges we could face. She encouraged hospice when the time was right and partnered with their team to ensure his end of life was peaceful and pain free. I have referred Dana and her team to other friends and family who now benefit from her knowledge and expertise.
